Dommerpresentasjon Meike DeHaney, kennel von der Irminsul, Tyskland

Born in Berlin as the daughter of the famous breeder of Great Danes, Mrs. Else Spiegel, I grew up with the very first Afghans in Germany. In 1936 my mother fell in love with Afghans at an international show and was later able to buy an excellent male, who was to become one of the first great winners in the uprising new Germany beyond the horrible 2nd World War, where my mother lost all her Great Danes. This Afghane male had an enormous influence to the breeding program of Germany Kennels since the end of the 2nd World War.

I grew up surrounded by high quality hounds and have handled them to great national, international wins and championships since I was 12 years old.

My mother and I have been breeding Salukis since 1969 under the kennelname “von der Irminsul”. Our foundation-bitch “ CH. Mehrbani” came from the famous “el Saluk”-kennel of Mrs. Lindroth and was mated to a male my mother bought in the UK, “Tahawi Lycaon”. Further important kennels in our breeding-program were “Raven Hill” (USA), “Al Caliph” (UK), “Kirman” (Finland), “Khayif” (France) and most recently “AlQom” (Slovenia).

We are very proud to be the breeder of the Nr. 1 Saluki-male of 2012 in Germany, “Multi-CH. Feroz v. d. Irminsul” – owned and handled by Marika Latsch. His sister, Multi CH. “ Farideh v. d. Irminsul” was Nr. 2 female of 2011, Nr. 4 of 2012 – owned and handled by Fam. Smits. My own CH. and European Winner 2012 “Faruna v. d. Irminsul” and “Farhani v. d. Irminsul” proved their quality in the whelping box and the future looks really very promising.

Since 1984 I am a licensed Judge for Afghans and Salukis. I have been invited to judge national, international and specialty shows in nearly every European country and the USA.

I am very honoured to be invited to judge Salukis at the “Norwegian Specialty 2013” and I am very much looking forward to see your beautiful and loved hounds.
